The Village Market is located in Portland and serves the New Columbia neighborhood. The nonprofit, community-run market opened its doors nearly two years ago. "Senior Community Service Employment Program participants have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of what we do. Experience Works Recognizes America's Outstanding Oldest Worker for 2012
Loren Wade was born in Winfield, Kan., on July 25, 1912, and has lived there his entire life. His first job was at 12 when he pulled weeds at a tree nursery and has worked consistently ever since.
When Wade started a new job at Walmart 29 years ago, he was at an age most Americans are ready to retire.Today he works 30 hours, five days a week restocking, changing merchandise displays, working the cash registers, and serving customers. Read the full story. Read the press release.
