The Putting Experience to Work Program is operated in conjunction with the Experience Works Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) in Midland/Saginaw, Michigan; Springfield, Missouri; Toledo, Ohio; and Sacramento, California.   Because federal budget cuts have decreased the number of people who can be helped through the SCSEP, The Putting Experience to Work Program is critical to expanding services to unemployed or underemployed older workers between ages 50 and 62 who are seeking employment services but have few options for training and intensive job seeking services.  The program responds to this need by providing customized training for jobs available in local communities, support services so the older workers can be successful, and assistance with job placement and retention.  The Putting Experience to Work Program provides the opportunity to serve not only job seekers but to also partner with employers and community leaders to help get older individuals back to work and help revitalize local economies.
